This piece was a commission for the fabulous Rita Aíbhinn Booke in the San Diego Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (formerly Saoirse Glam), who won my first Instagram competition. Having a lot of Irish family, I've long had an interest in Celtic art and the intricate knotwork for which it's known. The design incorporates elements of the Book of Kells and the Claddagh to form an ornate Celtic harp. The piece is made from wired craft foam strung with guitar strings. As a finishing touch, the instrument's tuning pegs are formed by a row of silver beads along the top of the arch. Owing to travel for work, I was able to deliver this headpiece in person and Rita was kind enough to show me the sights of San Diego!
